Surprised no one has posted in this thread.
As for me, he was one of my favorite anime directors. His works were always engaging and challenging, something that can't be said for most anime shows and films. I especially am glad that I got to see Paprika on the big screen at the Sarasota Film Festival a few years ago.
The only major work of his that I haven't seen yet it Millennium Actress. I had a copy of Perfect Blue, but it was stolen from my van a few years ago. Paranoia Agent is one of my favorite shows.
Shame he had to leave us so soon. RIP.
