COOL RIDGE, WEST VIRGINIA – January 29, 2008 – Tsubasacon, Inc. announced on its website (www.tsubasacon.org) last night, January 28, 2008, that it has started accepting pre-registrations for its next convention scheduled to be held September 26–28, 2008 at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, West Virginia. Currently, only mail-in pre-registrations are being accepted. However, Tsubasacon expects to begin accepting pre-registrations online within the next couple of weeks.

"Pre-registration offers the best price for admission," states Carlos Myers, webmaster of Tsubasacon's website. "We hope those who would like to attend the convention will take the opportunity to pre-register at the lower rates." The pre-registration rate for Tsubasacon 2008 is currently set at $30 per person for a weekend pass. The pre-registration rate will increase to $35 on June 1 and finally rise to the at-door price of $40 on August 31. Groups of 10 or more who pre-register together receives an additional $5 per person discount if they submit their pre-registrations before August 31.

"We are looking at online registration that avoids any additional fees to those who pre-register for the convention," explains Myers about the reason why online registration is not presently available. In previous years, Tsubasacon, Inc. has used the online event registration service EventBrite to handle the convention's online pre-registration. However, EventBrite charges an additional $1 surcharge on top of Tsubasacon's pre-registration fees. "It is something that is very difficult for us to avoid and we do not have the capabilities to handle online pre-registrations ourselves," says Myers.

ABOUT TSUBASACON, INC.: First established in 2004, Tsubasacon is West Virginia's first and only convention focusing on Japanese animation and comics, respectively know as "anime" and "manga". In early 2006, control of the convention was transferred from Charleston Anime and Manga Society, Inc. to Tsubasacon, Inc. Tsubasacon's goals are to promote anime and manga in West Virginia and to establish a social framework though which anime and manga fans can interact with each other.
